Valentine Willie Fine Art kick-off the New Year with our annual Headlights exhibition, to be held in both our Kuala Lumpur and Singapore galleries. Our first show for the new year will feature new works by both established and emerging artists from the region, providing the viewing public with a glimpse of our exciting programme ahead. Participating artists include Jalaini Abu Hassan, Kow Leong Kiang, Elaine Navas, Jonathan Ching, Phuan Thai Meng, Stefan Buana, Agus “Baqul” Purnomo, Moelyono, Popok Tri Wahyudi, Dedy Sufriadi, Gan Siong King and many others.

In conjunction with Headlights 2009, Valentine Willie Fine Art is pleased to announce the re-branding of the gallery and welcomes Manila Contemporary (Manila, the Philippines) and Tembi Contemporary (Yogyakarta, Indonesia) into our family.

2008 has been an exciting year for the gallery with the opening of our Singapore space in April, followed by Tembi Contemporary in May. In December 2008, we mark our Philippine’s presence with the opening of Manila Contemporary. The expansion recognises the significant increase in the regional creative talent pool and will provide more spaces to promote and support this creative growth.

Valentine Willie Fine Art will continue to play a dedicated role in representing the best of regional work, from the historically important to the cutting edge. Our programme include the opening of a Filipino classics department in the Manila Contemporary, the promotion of Kuala Lumpur gallery’s Project Room as a space for new media practices and experimental art, maintaining a public resource library at our Kuala Lumpur gallery, and future collaborations with important regional institutions for major exhibitions.
