Pictures of You, Pictures of Me by Noor Mahnun brought portraiture to the forefront in an intimate show featuring the likenesses of the artist’s close friends, colleagues, and family members. A series of thirty small portraits and five large canvases along with a triptych form a sort of diary of the current life and times of the artist. According to the artist, “I am interested in how people are linked, related to each other, related to me.” Taken together, the body of paintings present a “tree of associations”, documenting social connections, and the emotional bonds that people form with one another.
